From what I’ve gathered in my first 6 weeks here, Queenstown sleeps in. If you happen to be walking about the city before 10am, you won’t see many other people. Sure, there are tourists up bright and early to hike one of the many trails, to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain, or to jump off the top of said mountain, but for the most part, Queenstown is a nighttime city.
Which is probably why I was so excited to find Bespoke Kitchen. Not only does it serve a seriously creative breakfast, but everything looks gorgeous and fresh. And local.
Notice the artwork in the foam of my decaf soy flat white! The main event here is a curried cauliflower and potato hash with a fried egg on top. I couldn’t even get through half of the food – it was a big plate! And delicious. I tried their raw pseudo-Snickers a few weeks back and it was also outstanding, so I know that I’ll be back here. It ain’t cheap, but it’s a great meal.
