When I first started traveling to London for work, I had a week between work meetings that I needed to occupy… and of course it made sense to take the train from to Paris! What a fabulous way to travel: security checkpoints that weren’t oppressive; delicious 3-course lunch with wine; and comfortable chairs next to clear, wide windows for gazing at the passing countryside. It was a relatively short ride, too, landing me in the center of the city. I wish our rail system in the US were this simple.
I crossed paths in Paris with a close friend from business school; a friend from Fort Lauderdale who was traveling Europe with his brother; and my dear friend and financial advisor from Miami. And then there’s my college girlfriend who met me for a French adventure, including a few days in Reims to explore Champagne. Fantastique!
