And so, as it goes, wanderlust has brought me home again. After two adventuresome years – filled with exploring, learning, and finding my way – I’m back on familiar ground. The reasons for moving overseas are as true today as they were when I wrote them, but life is full of unexpected twists and turns. This was my next step … and now I’m thrilled to see what’s in store!

You may call it wanderlust, but to me it’s just part of who I am. Experiencing new places, meeting new people, and pushing myself to do (some of the) things that scare me: these are my passions. I want to explore the world, taste its food, listen to its sounds, and share my passion for travel with everyone I know. This is as much built into my DNA as my blonde hair!
I got my first real taste for travel when I was 13, the year I got my first passport. Having never been without a valid document since then, I’ve traveled to 6 continents and more than three dozen countries so far – and I’m nowhere near finished!
But travel for me is about more than just landing in a distant location and spending a few weeks immersing myself in its culture. When I was 19 years old and studying in Madrid, I told my family that I would live overseas one day… Not just a few weeks or months – I wanted a more permanent experience. And it wasn’t just that I wanted to do it – I was certain that I was going to do it. At the time I had no idea what it would look like, but here I am: uprooting my American life and settling into a foreign land. I couldn’t be more excited about this adventure!
I know that I have a lot to learn about my new home, its people and customs, and the process of building a life as an expat. I hope you’ll join me as I eat, drink, and document my way through this journey!
